Sharon
Sharon is a versatile marketing and creative communications professional with certified skills and a wealth of experience in marketing and brand strategy, brand management, creative services management, advertising, and production. Since 2005, Sharon has worked in teams at notable advertising agencies, including Origin8 Saatchi & Saatchi, ZK Advertising, Publicis West Africa, and Centastage, producing award-winning work. Some of the brands she has served include Spacefon, Areeba, MTN, Databank, Nestlé, Amalbank, GSMF, MET Insurance, SG-SSB, Gold Fields LCA Ghana, Club Beer, CalBank, Zain, Tigo, Little Hands International School, Vodafone, Rlg Communications, Beta Malt, Inesfly, Voltic, Venture Capital, Tasty Tom, Shell, Ghana International Bank (GHIB), Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas), and Hunting PLC.
As a seasoned creative professional, Sharon works in diverse ways to deliver truly effective solutions and illustrious projects that fulfill their promise. Her strategic approach and solutions-driven focus have been at the core of the excellence she has delivered to clients over the years. Sharon is the Lead Creative Consultant at award-winning SMC Consulting, where she partners with clients and agencies to manage the marketing affairs of some of Africa’s iconic and emerging brands. Through her consulting, she elevates the creative quality of brand communications and other projects that earn recognition. She also builds and facilitates training programs for individuals and organizations through the virtual SMC Creative Academy, empowering people to reach their creative potential. Additionally, Sharon dedicates her time to mentoring creatives, with the goal of shaping the next generation for work in the creative industry. She is purposed to make people, ideas, businesses, and brands better.
As a leader, Sharon brings her years of management experience to several organizations in pursuit of her purpose. She serves on the Board of Governors of Ridge Church School, a premier private school in Accra, and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Achimota School Endowment Trust Fund (ASET Fund). Sharon is a proud alumnus of both schools. She is also a former Council Member of the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG), serving in the 2023/2024 administration. She has often served as a juror in regional and global creative awards, including Africa’s celebrated Pitcher Awards and the United Kingdom’s Shots Awards. Additionally, she has been a faculty member for the Pitcher’s Future Creative Leaders Academy.
As a speaker, Sharon has engaged audiences from various stages, addressing diverse topics, including representing the next generation of marketers at the International Advertising Association (IAA) regional conference, Africa Rising 2022. She is also a writer, frequently contributing editorials to publications such as the Business and Financial Times (B&FT) newspaper, offering thought-provoking opinion pieces that provide readers with actionable insights on marketing and brand management, free from overly complex theories.
Sharon holds a Master of Arts degree in Marketing Strategy from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Design from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Sharon is Ghanaian and lives in Accra. She is a Christian and describes herself, among other things, as a sneakerhead, foodie, and sports fan.
