Joseph Ajah
Joseph Ajah has over 27 years of work experience and over the last 19 years, has worked in marketing communications in Nigeria and Ghana. His skills and experience cut across stakeholder engagement, client servicing, events management, radio & television production and copywriting. He began his career as a Staff Writer before joining Swift Studios, a privately owned audio-visual production company, as an Associate Producer. Working with the mercurial African-American Creative Director Lloyd Weaver, Joseph garnered valuable experience producing commercials for clients such as UAC Foods, Procter & Gamble, DN Meyer and African Petroleum amongst many others. He also worked on a number of documentaries and movies including a full -length movie directed by Ed Dessiso (1st Assistant Director, “New Jack City”). Joseph joined the Accra, Ghana subsidiary of the global advertising firm Leo Burnett in 2001, where he managed several accounts including Standard Chartered Bank, State Insurance Company, iAdvance (an Intel/Government of Ghana Project), Microsoft, Mobitel, Buzz GSM and tigo. He also worked on regional accounts such as Vanef/STC, a cross-border government/private partnership transport company and Ghana Ports & Harbours Authority, which involved extensive regional travel and managing relations across West Africa. In 2007, Joseph returned to Nigeria to work with Rosabel Group, an advertising agency and Nigerian subsidiary of Leo Burnett, as an Account Director, managing many high-profile accounts such as United Bank for Africa, Schneider Electric and UBA Metropolitan Life Insurance Limited. He joined 141 Worldwide (Nitro 121) as a Senior Account Director in 2009 and was responsible for managing the etisalat (Mobile) account. Joseph went into entrepreneurship, organizing and executing brand and product launches, managing advertising and public relations accounts in the alcoholic beverage, weight management sectors, among others. In 2013, he joined WNT Capitas, a public relations and investor advisory services company. Joseph is currently Director, Business & Operations at Caritas Communications, bringing his wealth of experience to the company’s efforts at delivering first rate consultancy services in reputation management, crisis communication, public relations, stakeholder management and public policy advisory to clients in oil & gas, healthcare, telecommunications and other sectors. Joseph holds a B.A (Hons.) English Studies (University of Port Harcourt, 1992) and an EMBA in Marketing (University of Ghana, Legon 2005). Joseph is passionate about family, football and the youth. He writes poetry and short stories and enjoys training in presentation skills.
